Diabetes can lead to a stroke as well. Another way of stroke prevention is working along with your doctor so you can create a treatment plan that will keep your hemoglobin A1C (blood sugar over time) level normal (less than 7.0 mmol/L).
Physical activity is another form of stroke prevention. Exercising reduces your risk of heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes, and may offer stroke prevention as well. It is a good idea to work along with your doctor to create an exercise program based on your history of smoking, heart disease, etc.
